Description
The Doagh Visitor Centre provides a great variety of exhibitions telling the story of Famine, Fear and Eviction. It is also a place where the customs, traditions and history of the people of Inishowen are preserved in a permanent way. The scenes include a Mass Rock, Presbyterian Meeting House and Orange Hall.
The Irish Famine was at its worst during the years 1845 to 1848. During this time the population dropped from 8 million to 4 million as a result of death and emigration.
